Uterine Cervix Evaluation

This exam should be offered to all women around the 22nd – 24th week of pregnancy, normally it is performed during the morphology.

It is performed transvaginally.

By measuring the length of the cervix it is possible to select patients at risk of preterm birth (with a cervical length less than or equal to 15 mm) and then treat them adequately, reducing the risk of preterm birth and all the consequences that this entails on the fetus
